Complete medical checkup to earn your work permit in Singapore

When the discussion appears regarding working in Singapore, there is no such thing as Singapore Work Visa. The authorities in charge of the work visa, call it the work permit or work pass that allow overseas individuals to take up temporary or permanent work in Singapore. The work permit or pass should be applied for by any qualified and skilled foreign aspirant, who pines to work in Singapore through an appointed employment agent or EA or employer.

According to the guidelines of the work permit, the employers who employ overseas workers in Singapore have to provide them with a salary for their service, provide their security bond along with a health insurance.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SINGAPORE WORK VISA

  • The applicant should hold a valid country passport
  • The work visa applicant’s age should be 18 or greater
  • The applicant can only find work within the specified area of work mentioned in the work permits given by the authorities
  • Overseas workers working in Singapore must also comply with the following :

1.      Take no part in any other business or begin their venture.

2.      Work only in the specified field and for the particular employer mentioned in the work pass or work permit

3.      Cannot marry a Singapore citizen or PR in or outside Singapore without having the clarification from the MOM or Ministry of Manpower

4.      Stay only at the address set by the employer at the beginning of the employment

5.      Bring the original work permit at all times and show it for verification on demand by any public officer

One thing must be mentioned here that, a medical checkup is mandatory to earn your work permit. If you get everything right and your medical report states otherwise, you will not grant the work permit or the entry. Even after earning your work permit, you will have to go through a work permit renewal medical checkup to retain that status.
